Get it? They hunt "spheres"?

In preparation for my life as a law school student, I’ve been playing a lot of video games this week. Thanks to the best best man, the new Garv-apartment here in Albany is equipped with one o’ them tiny PS2’s, and thanks to the used-games bin at the neighborhood EB, that PS2 is equipped with Final Fantasy X-2. Oh, it’s not just the final fantasy. It’s not even the tenth final fantasy. It’s the second tenth final fantasy.

That’s right - the game with the women who change clothes to fight their enemies. So far, I’m a fan. I really enjoyed FFX back when I was living it up in Chicago, and this is a fair extension of that. And to those of you who say it’s a game for girls just because the three protagonists are female, here’s Lisa’s take:

“A game where three hot women show it off in different skimpy outfits? No, Mikey, this one’s definitely for the boys.”

FFX-2 certainly has a 'for girls' aspect, and I tell you why. An old PS magazine had a two-page spread on all of the various clothes the ladies can magically change into, and I left it open on the coffeetable. Not two minutes later, along walk Her Worshipfulness. "Ooh! Dress up?"

Yup - fun for the gals, or for the cosplay subculture.

but my question is what happened to the tails of past final fantasy games?! (well, "game" would be more appropriate). although, i suppose, women, skimpy outfits and tails may scare away even the most freaky black shirted techno trekkie.

Actually, I’m not all that devoted a life-long FF fan (I was more a Dragon Warrior boy), so I can't bring too much to the table unless we're talking final fantasy III, VII, X, or X-2. Did they have tails in the others? Like Dragonball tails? Crazy.

Gravy, as you know RPGs and I have a had a long standing hate-hate relationship. However, recently we have achieved a detente of sorts, because of my fascination with Knights of the Old Republic. So, I don't know much about the FF games, but I would have to say that a game with pornime chicks in it changing clothes could have a certain appeal for the guys, (You have a wife for that now, bro!!)but could also have an appeal for girls too. Not too sure, sources are unconfirmed.

ok. not going to lie (and i have no shame): i, being a girl, forsook (actual word?) friends, family and my new boyfriend (at the time) for 3 months until i conquered Final Fantasy VIII. thank god that "new boyfriend" is marrying me b/c i honestly don't think this is somthing that match.com would find a lot of suitors for. yes, it took me 3 months. and yes, i still love(d) it.
